Important Notes :

This is a bird sanctuary, hence there are restictions on plastic items, carry as minimum plastic items as possible as one need to keep a deposit amount along with the number of plastic items.
DSLR/Professional Cameras and Video cameras additional charges are applicable as per existing rates, which are not included in the cost.
It is recommended to carry some food items for Lunch as there are no food stalls on the trek or at the top.

Overview :

Karnala is a famous trek near Mumbai, because of the bird sanctuary which is visited by many and also it's proximity to the city. Karnala is a beginner friendly trek and can be done by all with decent fitness. It takes approximately 2.5-3 hours to reach the top from the base and the trek offers panoramic views of surrounding region.

How do you determine your fitness?

Trekking requires good cardiovascular fitness. One can improve this by going for a run on a regular basis and breathing exercises also helps. Smoking also hampers lung capacity, avoid smoking if you want to improve your cardiovascular health.
Even though trekking requires full body strength but strong lower body helps a great deal. Hamstring, Glute and Calves are main muscles that are put to test on treks to name a few. Gym goers often pay less attention to lower body workouts and hence sometimes struggle on trek.
Some treks have less elevation gain (height gain) but are long treks, those trek require good endurance. Endurance can not be built overnight, it takes a long time and constant active lifestyle.
Just because you take long walks, do yoga or go to the gym does not necessarily mean that you are in good fitness. The type of workout you do and your cardiovascular fitness is what matters on treks.
If you have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of more than 25 then you should only start with Easy treks.

How do we grade our treks ?
Easy: Ideal for first timers but if you are not in good fitness or have a less active lifestyle then select treks which have less than 2 hours of climbing.

Easy Moderate: Ideal for first timers, but requires good endurance as these treks may have longer duration of climb even though terrain may be easy.
Moderate: These trek require good fitness and the terrain can be challenging, like constant climb or tricky patches. These are usually recommended only if you have done a few treks before and have done well on them. Fit and active beginners can also do these treks but we always suggest to start with easy treks.
Moderate-Difficult: These trek are only for trekkers who have done few moderate level treks before and have good fitness and endurance.

Difficult: These treks either have long trekking hours or have technical climb or both. Only suitable for people who trek regularly.

Booking Process:
1. Check details of the event on website.

3. If seats available then Check Payment Policy and Make Payment to Confirm Seat(s).

4. Send Payment Screenshot on WhatsApp number 7400174767.

5. Share Contact Number of people you registered for the event (in case you booked for more than 1 person).

6. Get added to WhatsApp group 1 day before the Event.

a) You can cancel your booking 2 days prior to the start of the event day and take 80% refund (E.g. For Sunday morning event you can cancel up to Thursday night 11:59 pm, however for events leaving Saturday night you can cancel up to Wednesday night 11:59 pm)

b) If you cancel after that time limit, then you will neither get any refund nor the amount will be adjusted in future events under any circumstances.

c) However, you can always send someone eligible as your replacement. No extra charges or cancellation charges will be levied for the same.

d) Our events are planned assuming normal weather and normal conditions. In case of occurrence of any delayed cancellation of local or express trains, natural calamities, riots, political unrest, outbreak of disease or other such circumstances which are beyond our control, the event may be cancelled, Leaders decision will be final and binding on all participants, under such circumstances, No refund will be provided.

e) Any eligible refund as per above policy will be processed within 3 working days.
